Travel Green

Greyhound is proud to be one of the most environmentally efficient travel operators in Australia. Studies have shown that per passenger kilometre coaches use almost 8 times less CO2 emissions than jet aircraft, and for every full coach, there are 16 fewer cars on the road.*

We have recently expanded our Travel Green program to enable our customers to offset carbon emissions from their bus travel.

We have teamed up with Cleaner Climate, a carbon solutions company which supports projects which are Kyoto compliant. Cleaner Climate is one of Australia’s most highly rated carbon offset companies.

We take our environmental impact on the planet seriously and rise to the challenge by committing to low-emission, eco-efficient travel alternatives in a changing world. We want you to travel green.


While bus travel is already one of the most environmentally efficient forms of transport, now for just $1 per ticket you can offset carbon emissions from your travel.^

So what else are we doing? Well, at Greyhound Australia we have implemented a range of initiatives to ensure we minimize our environmental impacts:

  • Our buses are all fuelled with the cleanest diesel on the Australian Market, BP 10PPM.

     

  • Our bus fleet is constantly upgraded to ensure fuel efficiency and lower carbon emissions. In fact, Greyhound has spent over $11 million in the last 12 months upgrading its fleet to ensure continuous improvements in fuel efficiency and the delivery of lower carbon emissions.

     

  • We now offer a carbon offset plan for our commercial customers.

     

Greyhound Australia cares for our environment and we invest in it by making our business the most environmentally friendly that it can be. Our objective is to set the standard for transport throughout Australia; minimizing emissions and maximizing the efficiency of travel.
