Located directly across the Murray River from its twin city of Wodonga, Albury makes a great stopover on the journey between Sydney and Melbourne but is well worth a visit in its own right.

MURRAY ART MUSEUM (MAMA)

The Murray Art Museum Albury is a vibrant contemporary art centre with a variety of exhibitions including Australian contemporary art and photography. This free museum is open 7 days a week and also features on on-site café and gift shop.

ALBURY BOTANIC GARDENS

Meandering pathways and vibrant garden beds display over 1000 species of plants at the Albury Botanic Gardens. One of Albury’s most treasured icons, the Gardens were opened way back in 1877 with the planting of an English elm tree.

WONGA WETLANDS

Grab your binoculars and look out for the 176 identified bird species that call Wonga Wetlands home! Available to visit all year round, explore the wetlands with 3km of walking paths winding their way around 7 lagoons.

LAKE HUME

Six times bigger than Sydney Harbour, Lake Hume is an impressive body of water held by an awe-inspiring dam wall. There’s something for everyone here, including fishing, picnicking, and water sports like wakeboarding, water skiing, tube-riding and stand-up paddleboarding.
